With a rich heritage of performance on this site dating all the way back to 1435, the theatre has long been a cornerstone of culture and creativity in North Devon.
The current building, once known as The Queen’s Hall following a 1952 rebuild, has served the community in various guises over the decades. In 1993, it was modernised into the theatre we know today—a warm and welcoming venue with an active year-round programme and excellent audience facilities.

Today, Queen’s Theatre presents a vibrant mix of touring productions, from critically acclaimed dramas and hit musicals to ballet, orchestral concerts and top-name comedians.
With two levels of comfortable seating, the theatre provides an intimate and enjoyable experience for all.

Audiences can also enjoy pre-show and interval drinks at our main bar on the stalls level or unwind Upstairs at the Queen’s on the second floor, which is also available for private events, meetings and receptions. A true cultural landmark, Queen’s Theatre continues to serve as a stage for unforgettable stories and shared moments.
